Its a Long Long Way To Tip A Taru

My slow but sure trek through the weekend ended with me finally reaching... Level 67 Paladin! Yaaaay! My expectations were.. don't count on any XP Parties. However, out of the blue, I was invited to a new party and in a new camp I've never experienced before. Throughout the whole time, the white mage.. not sure if I upset this person before or not.. decided that I did not actually need any HP; just wait till I was hovering between 10%-40% and then cast Cure V. Makes perfect sense. As a change, I did speak out several times, and the little kid didn't change. Thankfully, the black mage was someone who knew.. the tank is a nice thing to keep alive.. and kept curing me.
Ultimatly.. I started playing with "Reap What You Sow" by just "assuming" that the WHM would do his job. I never stop doing my job. Just the way I am. But rather than spamming "I'm Petrified" or "I'm silenced" I just waited for the WHM to do something. When I leveled WHM, I could recognize the signs of these attacks and fix them fast, so I wasn't asking for much. But eventually, what I expected happened--I was petrified, and the WHM took hate, and nearly died. "What happened?" My replay: "I'm still petrified."
I suppose my mistake is expecting people to be as good as I was in whatever job. I've never considered myself as amazingly good--I just was able to think, and learn and pretty much get into the flow. All in all, that was a good party. The RDM did his job for the most party, but had /say macros that made my want to gouge my eyes out. And the WAR, THF and BLM were really good. And I came very close to leveling.
The real fun part was how much I spent skilling up and farming. A renewed friend of mine and I went to kill crabs, and I earned a great deal of skillups AND earned my NPC level 58. And thanks to the goblins in Western Desert, I obtained 3 more gold coins--I'm hoping to have a gold hairpin made. And thanks to the Escort Quest, and the subsequent Chocobo race quest, I earned 2k xp. ^^
