Making a Japanese Party Laugh

I have joined more than one all Japanese party where I was the only english speaker. I tend to do well in these cases.. and like someone I met on Alla once told me, the majority of the time, the reason they do not like to invite/join with english people isn't really a bias against anyone, but more of a social deal:

I think you hit the issues many JPs face on the spot by your own
personal experience:

Quote:

I'm so shy I always stumble when I try to say
anything

Many NAs say, "O the Japanese take English in
elementary, junior, and high school!" and have the feeling that therefore, the
JPs really don't have an excuse when it comes to communication. This is not so.
Just like you feel shy when trying to say something in Japanese, the Japanese
feel exactly the same way, and only worsened because a few NAs made fun of it -
like the "onry" and "garka" things.

Interestingly, many JPs do prefer to PT with NAs making that extra effort to communicate over elitist super "haijin" JPs.

So.. I just try my best, listen and understand.. and everyone has fun. Sometimes they even invite me back, except for the fact that.. obviously.. we play at different times, and I'm usually a replacement for a normal player.

In any event.. I got a new Japanese party last night to play in the volcano on those radioactive crawlers. Something very interesting since I just reciently xp'd there on RDM. But the party went very well. I could hold hate extreamly well, despite the ranger and dark knight who did insane damage. What really made the party for me was the fact that I could make them laugh. >.>;; nothing.. vaudeville-land hillarious mind you.. but when the special "very bad breath" skill took me down to 200 hit points on several occasions, I added a few comments of.. "It's hooooooot" and... "ouchie..." I think it was funnier for them that I could actually pull it off with my stumbling japanese. I wanted to comment with something like "my kitty paws are red...; ;" but.. the party moved so fast, I couldn't put the words together... (hmm.. "neko te ha akai nya... ; ;" .. I .. think...)

hehe.. 2 AUSOME parties in 2 days in a row. <.<;; I'm the kitty waiting for the shoe to drop. If I get a 3rd day, I'm adopting a homeless tarutaru.
